Penny is a Creator a Designer a Sculptor and a Curator. She has a limitless resource of creativity and a willingness to share her knowledge of art design. Penny is a creator and designer of one of a kind relief tile work that is sculpture defined. Each Sculptural tile mural, mosaic or backslash or floor, has hours of articulated design, detail and intricacy. She has numerous completed commissions over the past 20 years. Each of her one-of-a-kind designs is created to suit the space it will inhabit. Door surrounds, back splashes, floors and signs, to name a few. She works on large scale sculptures in concrete, for outdoor art. She designs and makes bowls, platters and the famous raised leg quirky dog dishes in ceramics. Her work can be seen in public art commissions, hotels, restaurants and numerous private collections. The 8 foot fiberglass goggled and ski booted Bear “#roundhousebear” inside the Roundhouse on top of Whistler Mountain is a familiar piece to many thousands of Whistler skiers and visitors. Penny volunteers as a ski patroller on Whistler Mountain, is very active in mentoring Artists. She hosts art events & workshops, and guides Art Tours of Galleries and Public Art installations. She spent her childhood on her family’s ski hill in Ontario, Snow Valley. Penny studied Art and Architecture at the University of Vienna, has a degree in Ski Area/Hotel and Resort Management. Penny has taught skiing and guided in Austria, and Canada, Worked as a flight attendant. She has travelled extensively and lived in many countries, but has made Whistler BC her home for the past 20 years. She is the founder of the White Dog Studio Gallery winning best gallery in Whistler- Now called the White Dog Studios. She is in love with Whistler and her knowledge and history of Whistler is extensive. As a true people person Penny always seems to be willing to spark a conversation while riding the lifts or hiking the trails in Whistler, with her 3 Samoyeds, helpful with trail directions and the best place to eat, drink or relax.
